Weekend Review: Did your Masters, IPL & Premier League predictions lead you to glory?
Monday,April 15,2019

It was quite a remarkable weekend of sport, especially if you got your hands on some of our big money guarantees. Tiger Woods’ fairytale win at The Masters pulled at the heartstrings of the masses, and plenty of you cashed in with more than £4,000 paid out in total across our 14 Masters pools. That’s not all that was won right here this weekend, with plenty won in our IPL, Premier League and Scottish Grand National games, and there’s a further £900 to be paid out at the conclusion of tonight’s Monday Night Football. Did your sporting predictions lead you to some big winnings?

The Masters Pools: Tiger Woods completed his amazing comeback to win a fifth Masters and end an 11-year gap to secure a 15th major. His victory came after a two-under-par 70, finishing on 13 under which was one clear of joint runners-up Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka. Francesco Molinari looked on course for his second major crown but two double bogeys on the back nine dramatically ended those hopes.

Our biggest money pool for arguably golf’s standout major was our Fantasy Pick 6, which had 556 users playing for the £1,000 guaranteed. PNEInvincibles walked away with £725 of the guaranteed prize fund, with their entries finishing first and second. The winning team included Woods, who scored 300 points, while joint runner-up Schauffele added 150 and Patrick Cantlay a further 50. Keegan Bradley, Si Woo Kim and Keith Mitchell made up the rest of the winning six man team.

Elsewhere in our Masters pools, ragj1978 picked up £90 in our tournament Predictor, while 20 players shared the £250 guaranteed in the £2 Last Longest. Dave87 won £50 in our round four Fantasy Match Ups, with Zigt62 claiming £69 in the £25 game, while MattHeasman and Dodger secured £37 each for finishing joint top of our £2 final round Fourballs, with Ballj picking up £92 in the £25 pool.

In our free to play Golf season Predictor, in which eight correct predictions will bag you £1 million, three players - jonnyebeneezer, NeilLongland & sainthatch - are still in with a shout. All three picked Tiger Woods to win The Masters, and the winning margin to be one shot, meaning six more correct predictions throughout the season will see them scoop the Jackpot.

Premier League Coupon: The winner of our £500 guaranteed £2 Coupon will be determined depending on how Watford v Arsenal plays out tonight. Currently Hoofaround69 and Jazzle lead the way in joint first, and will both win £155 each if Arsenal come away from Vicarage Road with a victory. But a home win will see Tristan Chaplin become the outright winner, while a stalemate will lead LaPlonk to glory, scoring the three points needed. The current leaders have their Bankers to thank, which both scored double points. Newcastle’s impressive 1-0 win at Leicester bagged Jazzle 10 points, while Southampton’s crucial 3-1 victory against Wolves came through to score Hoofaround four points

Match Pool round-up: Our televised Premier League Match Pools started on Friday night, with Newcastle beating Leicester 1-0 at the King Power. Kipper won £30 in our £2 game for Banking an away win, while Shugster secured the same amount as Spurs beat Huddersfield 4-0, picking a home victory, four or more goals to be scored and hat-trick hero Lucas Moura to score at anytime. Banking Paul Pogba to score at anytime helped MrElvis win £33 in our £2 Man Utd v West Ham Match Pool, which Utd were lucky 2-1 winners, while Buttercup100 picked up £30 as Man City beat Palace 3-1, thanks to Banking an away victory, while the Professor won £70 in the £25 game. Platters30, Mbandrews, Chelman and dodger finished joint top to win £25 each in our £2 Liverpool v Chelsea Match Pool, with all four players backing a home win, which the Reds duly obliged winning 2-0, and picking either Sadio Mane or Mo Salah to net at anytime.

KKR v CSK: Our IPL Fantasy games are still going strong, with nearly £200 paid out in the £2 game for Kolkata Knight Riders v Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Chesterman69 won the £79 first prize in the 105 runner table, thanks to Chris Lynn as Captain scoring 264 after he made 82 for KKR, while man-of-the-match Imran Tahir for his winning spell of 4-27, added 113 points.
