Despite the international break meaning our Premier League games took a break, there was still plenty paid out in prizes across our international football, Test match cricket, US Open tennis and NFL pools. Here’s a look at who won what this weekend:

England v Spain Match Pool: England suffered defeat in their inaugural UEFA Nations League match, as Spain came away from Wembley with a 2-1 win. The Three Lions started brightly and took the lead through Marcus Rashford but Saul Niguez equalised just two minutes later. Spain’s winner came just after the half hour mark through Rodrigo Moreno, while David de Gea produced several excellent saves, including a brilliant stop to deny Rashford. The sting was taken out of England’s game when Luke Shaw was stretchered off with a nasty looking injury early in the second period. After a memorable World Cup campaign, Gareth Southgate’s men have now lost three in a row for the first time in 30 years.

In our Match Pool, tristan chaplin took home £50, after correctly predicting a Spain win, three or more goals to be scored, and selecting either team to come from behind to win.

France v Netherlands Match Pool: World champions France got their first Nations League victory, as they saw off the Netherlands 2-1. Kylian Mbappe put the hosts ahead before Ryan Babel equalised and it was Olivier Giroud who won it for France on 74 minutes. TonyStully1 got his hands on £20 in our pool after correctly predicting a French win, three or more goals to be scored and Giroud to net at anytime.

England v India 5th Test: England are looking good for victory in the 5th Test, with Alastair Cook scoring a century in his final ever Test innings. He also made 71 in the first innings as England reached 332, despite slipping to 181-7 after a strong start. India’s innings was virtually a mirror image - getting off to a solid start before collapsing leaving the tail to clean up the mess to get them up to 292. But by lunch on day four, England took complete control, leading by just under 300 runs with Joe Root and Cook putting on more than 170 together, as Cook made a fairytale hundred in his final innings.

Ringsender is looking good to win our Fantasy Pick 5 and £55, Banking Cook, with Joe Root also scoring big for their team. We ran a daily Predictor for each day of the match, with hanners898 victorious in our day three pool.

US Open Tennis Final Match Pools: Novak Djokovic beat Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets to win his 14th Grand Slam title. Djokovic won 6-3 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 to follow up his victory in Wimbledon to equal Pete Sampras’ number of Grand Slam wins. Platters30 came through in our Match Pool, thanks to correctly predicting a Djokovic victory.

Naomi Osaka overcame Serena Williams 6-2 6-4 to claim her first Grand Slam title in a match that was overshadowed by an extraordinary outburst at the umpire, which resulted in Williams being docked a penalty point, followed by a penalty game. Hanners898 continued their impressive weekend by scooping the prize pot in our £2 final pool.

NFL Sunday Handicap Coupon: Snowy1958 was victorious in our first £2 NFL Sunday Handicap Coupon of the new season, to win £30. Jamesath won £63 in our £10 pool, while pcm37 scooped £138 in the £25.
