1. Purpose

i-pools (Host) Limited ("i-pools") operates the website at www.i-pools.co.uk (“the Website”).

i-pools' Services are the provision of pools-based betting via the i-pools Betting Network based on real time data supplied by Opta Sports and other third parties.

The purpose of these Terms and Conditions is:

  • to set out the basis on which i-pools will allow the User access to the Website (http://www.i-pools.co.uk) and the Services;
  • to inform the User about the protections that we provide to ensure that our pools are fair and transparent;
  • to establish the parameters governing pool entries and settlement of Prizefunds.

We may amend our Terms and Conditions from time to time (please see paragraph 14.1 below) so you should ensure that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions which apply at the relevant time. Each time you use the Website, the Terms and Conditions which are in force at that time will apply to the contract between you and us. You should also print a copy of these Terms and Conditions, or save them to your computer, for future reference. In the event that our Terms and Conditions are updated, those published at the time of the Start Time of a pool will applicable to that pool.

These Terms and Conditions were updated on 24/7/2017.

We are required by law to collect and verify this information and we do our utmost to keep all personal data secure. See paragraph 9 (Privacy Policy).

The personal information you provide to us on registering will be verified to ensure that you do not already have an existing User Account with i-pools. A User Account may only be used by the individual who created it and not by anyone else. We reserve the right to close your User Account if we have reason to believe that it or your User Account details is/are being used by anyone other than you and/or you have not kept your password confidential. You will compensate us for all and any losses, damages, costs and expenses we may suffer as a result of any failure by you to keep your Username and password strictly confidential.

When you successfully register a User Account, i-pools grants you a revocable, royalty-free and non-exclusive licence to access and use the Website and the Services subject to the following conditions:

  • you acknowledge that i-pools will hold certain personal data with respect to your identity, including but not limited to your name, address, date of birth and payment details. You agree that we rely on this information in entering into our agreement with you and you agree to hold us harmless against any falsehood or inaccuracy contained in the information you provide us. See paragraph 9 (Privacy Policy);
  • you will not upload content to the Website if you do not own the copyright or have the express permission of the copyright owner to do so;
  • you will not disguise, or interfere in any way with, the IP Address of the device you are using to access the Website or otherwise take steps to prevent us from correctly identifying the actual IP Address of the device you are using whilst accessing the Website;
  • your use of the Website and our provision of the Services to you confer no rights whatsoever to the content and related intellectual property rights published on it; see paragraph 13 (Intellectual Property).

Currently our Services are available only in the UK and a small number of other countries and User Accounts must have an identifiable address in one of these countries to play on the Website. If you reside in a country where online pools betting or fantasy betting is not a legal activity, you are not permitted to register an account or to play on the Website.

We will restrict access to the Website and the Services from IP Addresses located in jurisdictions where we believe it may not be legal for us to provide the Services, including the USA, China, Turkey and Singapore as well as any countries restricted by international sanctions. If you believe that we are blocking you from using the Website in a legal jurisdiction, please contact us: helpdesk@i-pools.co.uk.

If you would like to register a User Account with i-pools but live in another (non-UK) jurisdiction where you believe that it is legal for us to provide you our Services then please contact us: helpdesk@i-pools.co.uk.

3.3 Age and identity verification

It is an offence in the UK for any person under the age of 18 to gamble. I-pools uses a third party services provider to verify the personal data you supply when you register a User Account to ensure that you are 18 or over. In particular, we may verify that you are 18 years old or over, that you are resident in the country in which you say you are a resident and/or that your identity matches the identity of the sources of deposits in your User Account. If this is not the case, we will require further information from you to allow you to access the Website and will ask you for this by email.

By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, you authorise us to carry out these data checks through our third party services provider(s).

You will not be able to make withdrawals from your User Account until age and identity verification has been successfully completed.

Users who provide inaccurate or false information regarding their age or their identity will forfeit any Prizes won and will have their User Account closed. We also reserve the right to notify the relevant authorities which may result in civil proceedings or criminal prosecution.

At the end of each session on the Website, you should log out of your account. If you suspect that someone may be misusing or attempting to misuse your User Account details, you should contact us immediately: helpdesk@i-pools.co.uk.

You understand that you may lose money on bets placed on the Website and accept that you are fully responsible for any such loss.  You accept that under no circumstances will any amounts lost by you as a result of any bet be recoverable by or from us and we have no liability whatsoever in connection with any such loss.

You agree that you will not use the Website and/or the Services in any way that may lead to the encouragement, procurement or carrying out of any criminal or unlawful activity, or cause distress, harm or inconvenience to any other person.

You will not select an offensive Username, make offensive comments, use offensive or pornographic material or make potentially defamatory or inflammatory remarks in connection with the chat or other social functions or any other part of the Website including within your own User Account information. We will not be liable to you for any loss that you may incur as a result of misuse of your password and we accept no liability resulting from the unauthorised use, whether fraudulent or otherwise of any User Account.

Information accessed by you on our Website, including but not being limited to results, statistics, sporting data and fixture lists are for your personal use only and the distribution or commercial exploitation of such information is strictly prohibited.

You agree to indemnify and hold us and our associated companies, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees harmless from any liabilities, claims, losses or demands made by any third party arising out of your breach of these terms and conditions or a breach by you of any law or the rights of any third party.

In the event of such breach, your User Account may be suspended, investigated and Prizes you have won may be withheld and i-pools may retain any positive balance then in your User Account pending the conclusions of such investigation and/or related legal proceedings.

3.6 Investigations

If i-POOLs suspends your User Account and/or voids any of your bets/entries, we will investigate the circumstances leading to this action as quickly as we can and will inform you promptly of the conclusion and the proposed remedy or action to be taken by i-pools . In any such investigation, i-pools will rely on the Pool Rules, data provided to us by our Data Provider and our transaction log database (and any other relevant information) as evidence to support our conclusions and actions.

If you are unhappy about the conclusions of any such investigations or any actions we take as a result, please use our Complaints and Disputes procedures set out in paragraph 12 below.

If you have funds deposited in a suspended or closed account, please contact our Helpdesk: helpdesk@i-pools.co.uk. However, we reserve the right to withhold the funds in your User Account pending the conclusion of any relevant investigation (including any relevant external investigation).

We also reserve the right to supply Users’ details and the outcome of such investigations to any relevant authority to assist with an investigation by other parties as required by the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act 2014 and its predecessors.

3.7 Suspending and/or Closing accounts

We may restrict your access to i-pools, suspend or close your User Account and/or void any bets/entries you may have outstanding, at our absolute discretion if:

If i-pools suspends your User Account for any of the above reasons, we will immediately notify you by email using the address you have registered with us. We will then investigate the circumstances and inform you of our conclusions and proposed remedies or actions.

Subject to paragraph 3.6 (Investigations) below, we are entitled to close your User Account and terminate these Terms and Conditions by giving you notice to your registered email address and, following such notice, you will no longer be able to access the Website or the Services other than to withdraw any outstanding balance in your User Account.

Such termination shall be effective from the date on which notice to close your User Account is sent by us but will not affect any outstanding bets provided they are valid and not in breach of these Terms and Conditions. Bets made in breach of these Terms and Conditions will be void. In cases of suspected fraud or money laundering, a User may not be entitled to withdraw funds from a User Account.

Subject to paragraph 3.6 (Investigations) below, you are entitled at any time to close your User Account. If you would like to do so, please contact us: helpdesk@i-pools.co.uk.

5. Operation of the Website and the Services

5.1 The Website and the Services

i-pools allows Users to access the pools as provided and managed by i-pools Limited, a licensed gambling software provider (licence no. 000-036290-R-317479-001). Access to the Website is subject to these Terms & Conditions and the pools are governed by the Pool Rules. Please read both carefully before entering any pools and Contact Us if you have any questions: helpdesk@i-pools.co.uk.

i-pools provides its Services exclusively through the Website.

5.2 The Pools

We currently operate the following pool types:

Classic Pools: pools requiring Users to make predictions relating to an underlying event;

Fantasy Pools: pools requiring Users to make selections from the participants in an event to score points;

Last Longest Pools: pools requiring Users to make regular selections in a series of events to remain in the pool and where the last User left in wins.

The rules governing the gameplay for each pool type are set out in detail in the Pool Rules. These rules cover all the general aspects of how to enter Pools as well as specific rules for each sport and game type.

Pools are available for entering before and up to the Start Time which is set out in the pool details. If an event begins early, or i-pools puts up an erroneous Start Time, entries made after the actual start time (for whatever reason) may be void if it is deemed to have allowed a User an unfair advantage.

At the End Time for each pool (or soon after), the pool will be closed and the Net Prizefund (the Prizefund after the deduction of the Administration Fee) will be distributed to the winning entries. The process for settling the pools and distributing the Prizefunds is described in paragraph 5.5 (Pool Settlement and Payout Structure).

We will determine which pools are published on the Website, when the pools are open for entering and when they close at our absolute discretion.

5.3 Pool Sizes

For each pool type, we will offer:

Unlimited pools, with no limit on the number of Users that can enter. Users can enter Unlimited pools more than once but only by making a new set of selections. Users cannot enter the same pool twice with the same selections.

10 Max pools which are limited to 10 Users per pool

Heads Up pools which are limited to 2 Users per pool.

Users can enter multiple 10 Max and Heads Up pools with the same selections or different selections) but all multiple entries will be assigned to different pools (in other words you can enter each pool only once).

10 Max and Heads Up pools will go ‘live’ only if the minimum number of players is achieved by the Start Time. If a pool has not attracted the minimum number of entries by the Start Time it will be void and entry fees will be refunded in full.

5.4 Entering a pool/Striking a bet

The only way to enter Pools is online through a User Account. i-pools does not accept cash or telephone bets.

When entering a pool, you will be asked to confirm your entry and choose your stakes. As soon as we have received this confirmation, your bet (or entry in the pool) is deemed to have been made and the stake(s) will (subject to having sufficient funds or points in your User Account) be debited from your account and added to the Prizefund(s) for the relevant pool(s). This pool will appear in the My Pools section of the User’s Lobby page.

You can edit your selections any time prior to the Start Time.

Once you have entered a pool, a bet has been struck and you may not cancel the bet or exit the pool, other than in the circumstances set out in paragraph 5.6 (Cancelled Events/Voiding Pools). It is your responsibility to ensure the details of your bets are correct before you confirm your entry into a pool.

If a User enters a pool AFTER the stated Start Time, for whatever reason, that entry will be invalid and will be excluded from the Pool and the entry fee will be debited from the Prizefund and refunded to the User’s Account.

i-pools reserves the right to decline any bet or pool entry without explanation.

5.5 Pool Settlement and Prizefund Payout

Pools will be settled as soon as reasonably practicable following the End Time of the pool (or such other time as is defined in the Pool Rules).

i-pools relies on data provided to us by OPTA Sports and/or other third party data providers, to be used as the source data to determine pool results. If the data provider does not provide the relevant data to settle a pool, i-pools reserves the right to settle the pool based on alternative publically available information sources as it may, at its discretion, determine. If no alternative public information is available the relevant pool or question may be void. See paragraph 5.6  (Cancelled Events/Voiding Pools).

If there is an investigation or dispute, data provided to us by a third party provider, evidence that supports alternative public information and/or our transaction log will be provided as supporting evidence.

When a pool is settled the Net Prizefund is calculated (the total entry fees in the pool minus the Administration Fee) and paid out to the Users in the prize positions when all relevant results have been updated and finalised.

The payout structure of a pool is determined by the number of entrants in the pool and the table structure (ie Unlimited, 10 Max, Heads Up etc). The standard payout structure for unlimited pools will add more prizes the more entries are in the pool as detailed below. The payout structure is always stated in the pool description at the top of the pool, but the number of prizes awarded and the prizes themselves may change as more players enter.

Classic and Fantasy Unlimited Pools (unless otherwise stated):

  • for pools up to 9 entries, there will be only one Prize, 1st Prize, which will receive 100% of the Net Prizefund
  • for pools with 10 or more entries, additional prizes will be added each time the number of entrants increases past a multiple of ten (1 additional prize) up to 30 players, then 15 (1 additional prize) up to 60 players, then 20 (1 additional prize) up to 100 players, then 25 (1 additional prize) and 2 additional prizes for every 50 players added.
  •  the Net Prizefund will be split between the Prizes so that second Prize is approximately 50% of first Prize, third Prize will be approximately 50% of second Prize and smaller prizes will step down in smaller increments.
  • Unless otherwise stated this is the Standard Payout Structure applicable for all Unlimited Classic and Fantasy Pools.

 Fantasy Pools with Target Score (unless otherwise stated):

  • for Fantasy pools that require Users to reach a target score to win the pool 100% of the Net Prizefund will go to the winner(s).

 Last Longest Unlimited Pools (unless otherwise stated):

  • 100% of the Net Prizefund goes to the User(s) who last(s) longest.

Classic And Fantasy 10 Max Pools:

  • for a full table of ten Users 66.7% of the net Prizefund will be paid to the Winner of each pool and 33.3% will be paid to the Runner-Up in each pool. If the pool contains between 2 and 9 Users 100% of the pool will go to the winner.

 Last Longest 10 Max Pools:

  • 100% of the Net Prizefund goes to the User(s) who last(s) longest.

Heads Up Pools (Classic, Fantasy or Last Longest):

  • 100% of the Net Prizefund will always be paid to the winner(s) of the pool.

Unless otherwise stated, if two or more Users tie for a position, the relevant Prizes are added together and divided by the number of tied Users to calculate the amount awarded to each User. (This is NOT the case in Predikta Pools which apply the Predikta Scoring System and the Predikta Tie-Break Rules.)

For example: if three Users tie for 2nd Prize, then 2nd, 3rd and 4th Prizes (if there are 3rd and 4th Prizes) will be added together and split equally between the three tying Users. The amount of the Prize will be added to the User’s balance immediately after the Pool has settled.

Prizes will be rounded to the nearest penny.

5.6 Cancelled Events/Voided Pools

The cancellation (or postponement to an unspecified date) of an event on which pools have been run will lead to automatic voiding of all the relevant pools (pools related solely to that event; further details are provided in the Pool Rules) and entry fees for such pools will be refunded in full. No Administration Fee will be charged on void pools.

If i-pools is unable to satisfactorily validate the outcome of an Event (for example due to loss of data feeds or live pictures), pools based on that event will be voided and stakes will be refunded in full. i-pools will make every effort to ensure that there will be information available to settle all outcomes but if i-pools is unable, for whatever reason, to satisfactorily validate the outcome of a scoring element within a pool, we will void that scoring element.

We also reserve the right to void a pool (or pools) if we suspect that any of the following has occurred:

  • the integrity of an event a pool is based on has been called into question
  • a pool is revealed to have been manipulated in any way
  • match-rigging has taken place affecting the outcome of an Event.

 If any pool is voided as a result of the above reasons, all stakes will be refunded in full.

i-pools will work with all official sporting bodies and authorities and the Gambling Commission to ensure that Events are fair and to uphold the utmost integrity in sport. A decision given by the relevant governing body of any sport will be considered conclusive evidence. In the event of any suspicion of match-fixing or results-rigging of any kind on any Event, we reserve the right to provide relevant data to any official sporting body or authorities and/or the Gambling Commission.

5.7 Errors

Although i-pools will make every effort to ensure complete accuracy of results, calculation of scores in pools and payouts of prizefunds, we will not be held responsible for errors in the information on the Website which we do not directly control including, without limitation, results or event Start Times or End Dates.

If a result used to settle an event is changed after the settlement of a pool for any reason (other than an error by us) such as disqualifications or the suspicion of criminal or fraudulent activity, the results of the pool will stand.

In some circumstances, i-pools may refund bets where a player has lost out as a result of a change in results after settlement. Such refunds will depend on the sport/event, the reason for the change and the length of time between the end of the event and the result being amended.

If a Prize has been awarded to a User in error, i-pools shall be entitled to make an appropriate adjustment to that User’s account balance to correct such error(s). If a User has insufficient funds to make this adjustment, the User agrees to make the necessary funds available to correct the error as soon as is practically possible.

If you become aware that an error has occurred, please inform i-pools as soon as practicable: helpdesk@i-pools.co.uk.

5.8 Challenge Pools

For some pools, designated by the "challenges" symbol in the pools lobby, Users may create their own private "challenge" table by clicking on the "Create" button and then inviting other players to join, either existing players by typing in their registered usernames or by email by typing in their email address.

Challenge Pools may be set up for any table size and any stake, as long as the User setting up the pool has sufficient cash funds to enter. Challenge Pools cannot be created or entered using Points (see paragraph 6.2 below).

Rules for Challenge Pools as the same as for standard pools and are set out in the Pool Rules section of the Website.

Our Special Offers are only available to Users than have accepted and adhered to our Terms and Conditions and have passed our age and identity checks. i-pools reserves the right to restrict certain Users from receiving or using any of these Special Offers for any reason. All bonuses are paid in Points into a User’s Points Balance. 15.1 Bonus offers

Our current bonus offers:

  • Referral Bonus: we will add a number of Points to your points balance when another new User first registers a User Account and adds the your username as a bonus code when registering. The bonus is paid when the new user first makes a deposit into his/her account.
  • Matched Deposit Bonus: from time to time, we may add a number of points to a User's account up to the amount of their first deposit (up to the stated maximum) based on the users entries into pools (ie 100 point for every £1 staked).

 Our Bonus offers are subject to the following conditions:

  • only available to Users with a verified UK address;
  • only available to registered Users who have accepted the Terms and Conditions and passed our age and identity verification process;
  • only available to one username per person (this may be restricted to one username per address if two user accounts are accessing the Website from the same IP address and cannot demonstrate that they are two separate people).

 Any user who breaches any of the above conditions will be required to repay all bonuses previously received before being allowed to withdraw from their account.

15.2 Progressive Jackpot

i-pools is currently offering a Progressive Jackpot which gives all registered Users the opportunity to win a Prize offered by i-pools by answering all the questions correctly in certain designated pools. Progressive Jackpot pools will be designated by the Progressive Jackpot symbol (PJ).

The amount of the Progressive Jackpot Prizefund is published on the Website and updated regularly. If a player wins the Progressive Jackpot they 75% of the progressive jackpot balance will be paid out to the winner(s) (mius tax and administration fee) and 25% will be added to the next progressive Jackpot balance.

Only some Unlimited classic pools are designated “Progressive Jackpot” and labelled accordingly. To qualify to win the Progressive Jackpot a User must enter one of these pre-designated pools AND pay the Progressive Jackpot entry fee (currently £1 or 100 Points).

Having entered a Progressive Jackpot and paid the Progressive Jackpot entry fee, to win the Progressive Jackpot, a User must correctly and precisely predict ALL of the outcomes of ALL questions in the relevant pool. If any question in a Progressive Jackpot designated pool is void, the Progressive Jackpot cannot be won in that Pool and any Progressive Jackpot stakes will be refunded in full.

For example, for the question "How many goals will be scored in the match?", if 5 goals were scored, the user would have to select the answer "5 or (more)" to answer correctly and precisely. If they had selected "3 (or more)" or "4 (or more)", they would not have selected the precise answer.

For the purposes of winning the Progressive Jackpot, answers will be rounded to the nearest option which was available for users to select as an outcome. So if the possible answers for a quesion were provided in steps of 5, (e.g. 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 etc) and the outcome is not a multiple of 5, the outcome will be rounded to the nearest 5 for the purposes of winning the Progressive Jackpot.

The Progressive Jackpot prize will be equal to 75% of the balance at the time (minus Pools Betting Duty of 15% and Administration Fee of 10%). The balance of 25% will be paid into the next progressive jackpot.

In the event that two or more Users win the Progressive Jackpot in the same pool or on the same day, the Progressive Jackpot Prizefund will be shared between these Users.

To receive the Progressive Jackpot a User will be required to provide documents as evidence of their age, identity and address. Employees of i-pools are not eligible to win the Progressive Jackpot.

15.3 Halls of Fame

i-pools publishes All Time and Monthly Halls of Fame for All Pools and specific sports. Only public pools qualify for the public Halls of Fame. Only private pools qualify for private Halls of Fame. Certain pools are excluded from the Halls of Fame; if this is the case it will be stated in the pool rules.

Points Prizes are awarded to the top three Users in each published Monthly Hall of Fame (indicated by a red "cash" icon in the Hall of Fame Lobby). Leaders of the All Time Halls of Fame just get the bragging rights.

A User’s rank in a Hall of Fame is determined by his/her best scores in relevant pools. These scores are calculated as follows:

Hall of Fame scores are calculated by dividing the number of entries in a pool by the User’s finishing position in that pool and then multiplied by the cubed root of the Stake of that pool (e.g. if a User finishes 10th out of 100 in a £5 pool the Hall of Fame score for that User in that pool will be 100 / 10 x (5 √1/3) = 17). In the event of a tie for a position in a pool, the tied users will all score the muber of points that would be awarded to the lowest position in the tie (e.g. if three players tie for 2nd place, they would share 2nd, 3rd and 4th position and therefore each earn the points awarded for 4th place.

Then the top twenty results per user are aggregated to determine the user's current Hall of Fame score. These scores are published in each Hall of Fame.

Freeroll pools (ie pools with no entry fee) do not count towards Hall of Fame scores.

15.4 Loyalty Awards

i-pools will issue Points to each User at the end of each month based on their activity on the Website during the month. This Loyalty Award will be equal to the sum of the points issued as a result of each Action they carry our multiplied by their Multiplier Score.

A User's Multiplier Score is determined by adding up all the scores of the Achievements they have "unlocked" on the Website. Each Achievement is worth 0.5x, 1.0x or 1.5x and the User's Multiplier Score is the sum of all of these. The User's Multiplier Score is then applied to each Action to determine the Loyalty Award. The maximum Multiplier than can be achieved is 25x. Achievements are unlocked for a period of 6 months. Freeroll pools (ie pools with no entry fee) do not count towards unlocking Achievements.

Points will be accrued for the following Actions:

  • entering a pool (with cash) - 1pct of User's Admin Fee x User Multiplier (public pools only)
  • tweeting your entry - 0.1 point x User Multiplier (once per pool, public pools only)
  • depositing - 0.1pct of deposit x User Multiplier (min £50 deposit)
  • organising a private pool - 2pct of total Admin Fee x User Multiplier

Each User can access their Multiplier Score and their accrued Loyalty Bonus for the month in their Profile. Loyalty Awards are made at the end of each month and these Points can be used to enter cash pools in the Lobby.

15.5 Jackpot bonus

Some pools, designated with a "£1M" symbol in the Pools Lobby, carry a £1 million jackpot bonus which can be won by any player that enters the pool and successfully meets the winning criteria for winning the Jackpot Bonus, which will always be stated in the Pool Description. Jackpot pools cannot be entered using points (see paragraph 6.2 above) and can only be entered with cash. The Jackpot Bonus cannot be won in Challenge pools and can only be won in public pools available to all players on the Website.

To win a Jackpot Bonus in a Classic or Fantasy pool, the User must answer each question correctly and precisely and according to the Rules.

To win a Jackpot Bonus in a Last Longest "streak" pool, the User must make the specified number of correct selections in a row. For Football Last Longest Jackpot pools, this is 20 correct selections in a row; for a Golf Last Longest Jackpot pool this would require 10 correct selections in a row.

Only one Jackpot Bonus can be won in any one pool; so if two (or more) players win the Jackpot Bonus in the same pool, which can be two different tables or stake sizes in the same pool (eg the £5 table AND the £25 table in the same Last Longest pool), the Jackpot Bonus will be shared by these players.

Only Users with accounts that have been fully verified prior to entering can win the Jackpot Bonus and only entries that are made prior to the pool start time will qualify (ie with a time stamp before the Close date of the pool). Any User that meets the winning criteria for the Jackpot will be required to provide proof of age and address before receiving their Jackpot prize.

If any question in a Jackpot Pool is voided, the Jackpot bonus cannot be won.

The Jackpot Bonus is arranged by a third party, Risq Capital Limited, and any winning Jackpot bonus will only be paid out after the winning entry and the winning player's details have been verified and agreed by them.

Employees of i-pools, or any associated company, are not eligible to win the Jackpot Bonus.

Good luck in the Pools!
