Man Utd v Liverpool, £500 Guaranteed Coupon: Premier League Matchday 30 Preview
Friday,March 9,2018

It’s another massive week of Premier League football, with the hotly anticipated Man Utd v Liverpool clash kicking off proceedings this Saturday lunchtime. The race for the top four is bubbling up nicely, but not nearly enough as the battle for survival with just seven points separating Brighton in 10th and Stoke in 19th!

As usual, there’s more than £1,000 to be won in prizes right here, for putting your Premier League knowledge to the test and attempting to turn your predictions into cold, hard cash.

Here’s a look at our standout pools:

Man Utd v Liverpool Match Pool: One of the most anticipated games of the season between these two bitter rivals has plenty riding on it, perhaps more so than in recent years. With the race for a top four spot intensifying, any slip up will no doubt be pounced upon, while the winner will surely all but confirm their Champions League spot for next season.

With Man City miles ahead, either Man Utd or Liverpool will have the chance to lay claim to being ‘the best of the rest’ with victory here taking the Merseysiders above United, but a win for Jose Mourinho’s men will open up a five point gap over Liverpool.

Both teams are in good form, with the Reds unbeaten in five league games, while United saw off Chelsea 2-1 before a fine comeback against Crystal Palace, with Nemanja Matic’s last gasp screamer earning a 3-2 victory.

This will certainly be a tight affair as four consecutive draws between the two sides demonstrates, and it might well come down to how well United can defend against Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

There’s seven questions to answer in our Match Pool, with each multiple choice question worth 20 points, multiplied by the figure in brackets. A win for either team will score you x3 points in our match result question, so too will a draw, which could well be the way to go. Romelu Lukaku has been in fine form as of late and is just x1 to score at anytime, so too is Premier League top scorer Salah. In terms of how many goals will be scored, if United set out as expected, then don’t be surprised if two or fewer at x1 comes through.

Premier League Coupon: Once again you’re playing for the biggest share of the minimum £500 that is currently in the prize fund, for predicting the results of each match. You’ll score a point for each correct prediction, multiplied by the figure in brackets - ie a Man Utd win will score three points - and the player with the most points wins.

As stated before, you’re best bet might be a draw at x3 in the Man Utd v Liverpool match, while Everton are x2 to see off Brighton and you’d expect them to do so considering they’ve won eight home games so far this season.

The six pointers at the bottom keep on coming, with Huddersfield hosting Swansea with both sides three points above the drop zone. A rejuvenated Swansea side will take some beating despite a tough away trip to the Terriers, and will probably settle for a vital draw, which is worth three points in our Coupon. Newcastle v Southampton is equally as big, and due to the fact the Toon are in slightly better form, a tight win at x3 for the home side would just about get my vote.

West Brom are virtually doomed eight points from safety, and while Leicester will turn up at the Hawthornes in poor form, it’s hard to see them not walking away with victory at x2, which might be worth Banking to score double. A draw at x3 seems like a decent shout between West Ham and Burnley, while wins for Chelsea at home to Palace and Arsenal against Watford will score you a point each, the same if Spurs and Man City come away from Bournemouth and Stoke, with expected victories.

Premier League Fantasy 5-A-Side: Pick five players - a goalkeeper, defender, two midfielders and a forward - to make up your team and if you scoop the most points, you’ll win the biggest share of the minimum £100 guarantee.

David de Gea seems like a viable option in goal, considering you’d expect him to be a busy boy against Liverpool giving him plenty of opportunities to score a point for each save made. The same theory is behind potentially picking Sebastian Prodl as your defender with two points scored for each tackle, and although Arsenal are in poor form, they’ll still surely be the more attacking team against Watford. Prodl will also score you double points with Watford one of the longest odds to win this weekend.

In midfield, Stoke’s Xherdan Shaqiri will also score double with the Potters at home to Man City. He recently scored against Leicester and is probably Stoke’s best bet to help them get anything from this one.

You’d expect Everton to have too much for Brighton, especially at home which brings Theo Walcott into the equation as your second midfielder, while up front, it’s a choice between Jamie Vardy (away to WBA), Harry Kane (against Bournemouth) and Sergio Aguero (at Stoke) with all three decent options.

Come check out what else we have to play on top of that, and get your entries in to win big!
